Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu

You will meet and assist by Parikrama Treks representative. You will have a motorbike test ride on the second day.

Day 02 & 3: Sightseeing and Tibet visa Processing

Today you will have sightseeing of Kathmandu valley. We will provide a short briefing about the Motorbike journey to Mt Kailash. You will have a motorbike test ride on the second day.

Day 04: Ride Kathmandu to Rasuwagadi (150 km / 7 hrs)

Today is one of the long journeys as we try to reach the border of Nepal and Tibet. The road is more off-road that one can imagine.

Day 05: Ride Rasuwagadi to Kerung (50 km / 2 hrs)

Today we will cross the Nepal Tibet border. We take a ride to the first city Kerung, Tibet.

Day 06: Ride to Saga (230 km / 5 hrs)

Today is an exciting day of riding towards Saga town. Saga is semi-modern Tibetan town facilities with good and basic guesthouses.

Day 07: Ride to Lake Manasarovar (370 km / 7 hrs)

Today we will enjoy the exciting view of the fresh lake at high altitude. You will also encounter with a stunning view of Mount Kailash.

Day 08: Ride to Darchen (40 km / 1 hr)

We will explore Manasarovar Lake’s surroundings in the morning time. Later we ride to Darchen and prepare for our 3 days walk to mount Kailash.

Day 09: Walk to Derapuk (18 km / 7 hrs) Mt Kailash parikrama Begins

Early in the morning, we start walking from Darchen. Golden Kailash views at the time of sunset and tomorrow morning at sunrise again.

Day 10: Second day of walking Tour to Kailash Parikrama

We start our walk quite early in the morning. It is a long day walking from Derapuk to Juthulpuk. Another 2 hours walking at flat land finally reach Juthulpuk.

Day 11: Third day of Kailash Parikrama. Ride to Saga (260 km / 2 hrs)

Today is the final day of our walk to reach Darchen. We take a ride back to Saga.

Day 12: Ride back to Kerung (230 km / 6 hrs)

We take the same roadway back to Kerung. We make final preparation to cross Nepal Tibet immigration tomorrow.

Day 13: Cross Nepal Tibet border. Ride to Kathmandu (128 km / 9 hrs)

Early in the morning, we ride our motorbike to Kerung boarder. After immigration formalities in both countries, ride back to Kathmandu.

Day 14: Departure

A Motorbike journey to Mt Kailash’s journey ends.

These are the dates for the Saga Dawa Festival, which is held on the upcoming year’s day at Tarboche, as fixed by our Tibetan lunar calendar 2026 -2027.
