You’ll cross suspension bridges over roaring rivers, visit monasteries perched on cliffs, and have the opportunity to interact with Sherpa communities.
The trek includes ample acclimatization days to ensure a safe and comfortable ascent to Everest Base Camp, including a hike to Kala Patthar for the best views of Mount Everest. The trek culminates at Everest Base Camp, offering an awe-inspiring experience standing at the foot of the world’s tallest peak.
The Everest Base Camp Lodge Trek is rated moderate to challenging. The trek’s difficulty primarily arises from the altitude and terrain, with some steep climbs, especially as you approach higher elevations. While prior trekking experience is beneficial, it is not required, as the trek is suitable for physically active individuals. Proper acclimatization is key, and there is time to adjust to the high altitude and minimize the risk of altitude sickness. Our guides are trained to ensure your safety throughout the trek.
The best times to trek to Everest Base Camp are Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). During these months, the weather is generally stable, with clear skies and moderate temperatures. This is also the ideal time to witness the Tihar or Dusherra festivals, which celebrate Sherpa culture with colorful ceremonies. Avoid the monsoon season (June to August) due to rain and the winter months (December to February) due to freezing temperatures.
On the Everest Base Camp Lodge Trek, you’ll stay in traditional teahouses, which provide a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. These family-run lodges offer a glimpse into the daily life of the Sherpa people. Accommodations are simple but welcoming, with shared rooms and basic amenities such as hot showers (available at most stops) and electricity for charging devices.
In higher-altitude villages, teahouses are more basic, but the hospitality and warmth of the Sherpa people ensure a memorable experience. You’ll enjoy a true sense of community and the joy of sharing stories with fellow trekkers from around the world.
Meals during the trek are provided in the teahouses where you’ll be staying. The food is simple, hearty, and nutritious, designed to fuel your body for the demanding trek. Most teahouses offer a wide range of options, including:
Snacks such as energy bars, chocolate, and tea or coffee are available throughout the trek. The meals are designed to give you the energy needed to keep going while also allowing you to immerse yourself in the local flavors and culture.
Beyond the towering peaks, the Everest Base Camp Lodge Trek offers a unique chance to experience the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people. Their culture, rooted in Buddhism, revolves around community, respect for nature, and living in harmony with the mountains. Along the trek, you’ll pass through villages where you can learn about Sherpa life, visit monasteries, and interact with the locals.
The trek also takes you through diverse ecosystems, ranging from alpine forests to high-altitude deserts. The region is home to endangered wildlife, including Himalayan tahr, musk deer, jackals, and yaks. The trail offers a combination of natural beauty and cultural richness, making it a truly immersive experience.

On the way, you’ll get your first breathtaking view of Mount Everest from a distance. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant town with shops, restaurants, and beautiful mountain views. (B.L.D)
Today is dedicated to acclimatization. You can take an optional 2-hour hike to the Everest View Point for stunning panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. You will also get a chance to explore the monastery and learn about Sherpa culture. (B.L.D)
Today’s trek will be a mix of beautiful forest paths and rocky landscapes. Today is the highlight of the trek! We begin with an early morning trek to Gorak Shep (5160m), where we drop our bags and continue towards Everest Base Camp (5350m). Early this morning, before sunrise, we trek up to Kala Patar (5545m) for the best panoramic view of Mount Everest and its surrounding peaks. After soaking in the beauty, we return to Gorak Shep for breakfast before trekking down to Pheriche (4200m) via Lobuche. This descent provides a welcome break from the altitude. (B.L.D)
We continue our descent today, retracing our steps back to Namche Bazaar. The trail is downhill, but it’s still a long day. Once we reach Namche, we can celebrate our accomplishments at one of the local pubs or bars, enjoying a well-deserved drink and good company. (B.L.D)
Today, we trek back to Lukla, where we started our journey. It’s our final day in the mountains, and while we may be sad to say goodbye to the stunning views, we’ll take this opportunity to reminisce about the incredible adventure we’ve shared. (B.L.D)
