Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 M)

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Later, there will be a briefing about the Annapurna Kopra Danda Trek by a Parikrama Treks representative. If time permits, you can explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu. 

Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara (900 M)

Travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara either by road (6-7 hours) or by a short flight (25-30 minutes). After arriving in Pokhara, you will have time to relax by Phewa Lake or explore the lakeside areas. 

Day 3: Pokhara to Nayapul, Trek to Ghandruk (1940 M /4-5 hours)

After an early breakfast, take a 1.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, the starting point of your trek. From Nayapul, begin your trek to Ghandruk, a picturesque village that sits at an elevation of 1940 meters. The trek will take approximately 4-5 hours (around 10 km), with a moderate ascent as you pass through traditional villages, terraced fields, and dense forests. Along the way, you will get your first glimpses of the Annapurna and Machapuchare (Fishtail) peaks. Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village, that offers a glimpse into the culture and lifestyle of the local people. Overnight stay in Ghandruk.

Day 4: Ghandruk to Tadapani (2630 M / 5-6 hours)

Today’s trek will take you from Ghandruk to Tadapani, located at 2630 meters. The trek is approximately 5-6 hours (about 10 km) and offers beautiful views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare as you walk through lush rhododendron forests. The trail ascends steadily, with occasional views of distant mountain peaks peeking through the trees. Tadapani is a popular stop for trekkers due to its stunning panoramic views and proximity to the trekking route. Overnight stay in Tadapani.

Day 5: Tadapani to Bayeli Kharka (3420 M / 6-7 hours)

Today, you will trek from Tadapani to Bayeli Kharka, a 6-7 hour journey (approximately 12 km). The trail takes you through diverse landscapes, transitioning from dense forests to alpine meadows. As you ascend, the panoramic views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges become more dramatic. Bayeli Kharka offers a peaceful setting, surrounded by nature, and is a great place to rest and acclimatize. Overnight stay in Bayeli Kharka.

Day 6: Bayeli Kharka to Upper Chistibung (3100 M / 5-6 hours)

The trek from Bayeli Kharka to Upper Chistibung is a 5-6 hour walk (about 8 km). The path continues through forests and meadows, with opportunities to spot wildlife, including Himalayan Thar, deer, and various bird species. The air becomes crisper as you ascend, and you’ll begin to see spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Upper Chistibung is a tranquil spot to relax and enjoy the solitude of the high mountains. Overnight stay in Upper Chistibung.

Day 7: Upper Chistibung to Kopra Ridge (3660 M / 4-5 hours)

Today’s trek takes you to the breathtaking Kopra Ridge, located at 3660 meters. The journey takes around 4-5 hours (approximately 6-7 km), offering stunning panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and other peaks. As you ascend, the landscape changes, with the forests gradually giving way to alpine meadows. Upon reaching Kopra Ridge, you will be treated to a majestic view of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. The Kopra Community Lodge, where you’ll stay, offers comfortable accommodations amidst these incredible vistas. Overnight stay at Kopra Ridge.

Day 8: Kopra Ridge to Swanta (2200 M / 5-6 hours)

Descend from Kopra Ridge to Swanta, a 5-6 hour trek (about 12 km). The descent takes you through lush forests, terraced fields, and several traditional villages. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with local people, including farmers who work the terraced fields. The scenery along the way is beautiful, with views of the mountains and valleys. Swanta is a small village with a welcoming community, where you will spend the night. Overnight stay in Swansea.

Day 9: Swanta to Ghorepani (2860 M / 5-6 hours)

The trek from Swanta to Ghorepani is approximately 5-6 hours (about 10 km). The trail winds through rhododendron forests, offering both shaded areas and panoramic mountain views. Ghorepani is a popular stop for trekkers, offering great opportunities for scenic views of the Himalayas. Once you reach Ghorepani, prepare for an early start the next day to witness a spectacular sunrise from Poon Hill. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.

Day 10: Ghorepani to Poon Hill, Trek to Nayapul, Drive to Pokhara (900 M / 5-6 hours)

Wake up early and hike to Poon Hill (1-2 hours) to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare peaks. Afterward, return to Ghorepani for breakfast and begin your descent to Nayapul. This trek takes approximately 5-6 hours (10-12 km), where you will descend through lush forests and small villages. From Nayapul, take a scenic 1.5-hour drive back to Pokhara. Relax and enjoy the serene environment of Pokhara after completing the trek. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

Day 11: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1350 M)

After breakfast, drive or fly back to Kathmandu (6-7 hours by road or 25-30 minutes by flight). Enjoy some leisure time upon arrival, allowing for a relaxing afternoon or final shopping in the bustling markets. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner with your trekking crew and fellow trekkers, celebrating the success of your adventure in the Himalayas. 

Day 12: Departure

On your final day, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight, carrying with you the memories of an unforgettable Annapurna Kopra Danda Trek experience.
