Overview

Kathmandu Lhasa Tibet Tour is an incredible Journey into Tibetan culture. You will see and explore the wonders land of Tibet including Lhasa. On this tour, you will not only experience Tibet's wonders but also the mountains of Nepal. One can also have a close encounter with the world's Highest Mountain "Mt Everest".

We start Kathmandu Lhasa Tibet Tour with a sightseeing tour of cultural Heritage. During this sightseeing, the Parikrama Treks crew will apply for Tibet Visa. We take a flight to the trans- Himalayan flight to the Tibet Capital Lhasa. Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa takes about an hour. You will get mesmerized by the beauty of Himalayan Peak rising above the earth.

During our tour of Kathmandu Lhasa Tibet Tour, we will also visit other amazing areas of Tibet. We will visit Lhasa, Xigatse, Gyantse to experience culture and Spiritual Tibet. You will visit some of the most popular monasteries, places of the Dalai Lama. Someplace has more historic belief. We try to understand more of the Nomadic lifestyle and their history during this tour. 

Later we return back to Kathmandu or take a direct flight to the Mainland of China. Finally, we end of Journey of the Kathmandu Lhasa Tibet Tour.

Itinerary

Day 01
Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport meet by our representative. Transfer to hotel for the night accommodation. On the way get a glimpse of the Pashupatinath temple of Hindu. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 02
Heritage Tour of Kathmandu and Tibet Visa Processing

After an early breakfast in the hotel, we will go for a city tour of Heritage monument sites. We will visit Boudhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple.
During this time our crew will make all the Tibet Visa Processing

Day 03
Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa (3650 m)

Today you will take a flight all the way from Kathmandu to Lhasa Tibet. One can enjoy the spectacular flight for about an hour and a half to Lhasa from Kathmandu. Our representative will pick you up from the Lhasa airport and drive you to your hotel in Lhasa city.

Day 04
Explore Lhasa

Today we will explore the majestic city of Lhasa. Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Bakhor Bazaar. Be a little familiar with Tibetan culture and lifestyle.

Day 05
Explore Lhasa

You will explore some of the beautiful spiritual monasteries in the area. We will explore Spirituality in the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. Drepung and Sera is an enlightening spiritual journey today.

Day 06
Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse (3950 m)

Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse. The stretch of 261 kilometers takes you through two high mountain passé. This pass includes Kora La (5010 m) and Kamba La (4794 m). Later we drive through the beautiful Yamadroke Lake to reach Gyantse. 

Day 07
Drive from Gyantse to Xigatse (3900 m)

Take your breakfast and go for a half-day sightseeing tour of Gyantse. Visit Pholkor and Kumbum monasteries in the area. Start driving to Xigatse after sightseeing tour and lunch. A short drive in the stretch of 90 kilometers takes you to a beautiful Tibetan town. We will finally reach Xigatse through spectacular countryside.

Day 08
Drive from Xigatse to Lhasa

Start a half-day sightseeing tour of Xigatse after breakfast. You will have a tour of the Buddhist monastery and other market areas. It will give you an idea of how different the Tibetan culture is. You can feel the beauty of experiencing a different culture than your own. Drive back to Lhasa later in the afternoon and stay overnight.

Day 09
Flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu

Take another spectacular Trans-Himalayan flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, our representative will transfer you to your hotel. A free afternoon to do souvenir shopping. You can take a leisure tour and stroll around the city.

Day 10
Departure Day

We will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight back home or to your next destination.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a camping or tea-house trek in Nepal. Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year. If you have questions on what you might need just ask us and keep in mind that Kathmandu is a great place to buy trekking gear at affordable prices.


IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds, or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.
